Manufacturing IT Manager – MES, Azure & .NET

About the role

Join a high-tech industrial company based in Switzerland, where IT plays a key role in running and improving production every day.

As Manufacturing IT Manager – MES, Azure & .NET, you will lead the Industrial IT operations team and keep the MES and shopfloor systems stable, secure and reliable, while delivering several IT projects in parallel for the production teams.

You will report to the IT Manager and work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality.
 
 

Your responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of skilled IT professionals, with clear objectives, trust and a sustainable workload.
• Ensure stable and secure operations of the MES (ISA-95 Level 3) and equipment integration systems (Level 2) in a production-critical environment.
• Set up and run IT operations governance: incident, problem and change management.
• Make sure roles and interfaces between automation (L2), MES (L3) and business systems (L4) are clear.
• Be the main IT contact for Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality on MES, shopfloor IT and equipment integration.
• Drive several IT projects at the same time (MES, RMS, CMMS, APS), managing priorities, capacity, risks and deadlines.
• Challenge technical and architecture choices, together with the IT Architect.
• Manage external partners and system integrators: SLAs, service quality and costs.

Required skills and experience

• Engineering degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (mandatory).
• 15+ years of experience in IT, with strong exposure to industrial and manufacturing environments.
• Proven hands-on background in MES and a practical understanding of ISA-95 (L1, L2, L3).
• Strong track record in IT operations for production-critical systems.
• Solid technical background in architecture, system integration and software development, ideally in C# / .NET.
• Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud / on-premise environments.
• Interest in or experience with AI use cases is a plus.
• PMP / PMI certification and Agile experience.
• Proven experience leading senior technical teams and managing system integrators.
• Professional English and at least conversational French. German is a plus.
