CLOUD DATABASE ENGINEER

Mandated by one of our clients, an international company , we are seeking for an CLOUD DATABASE ENGINEERThe position can be located either in GENEVA-Switzerland

 
RESPONSABILITIES:

• Database Design and Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and architect scalable, high-performance databases on cloud platforms
• Database Operations: participate in operation of databases, managing performance, availability, security, and data integrity
• Performance Optimization: Analyze database performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to enhance system efficiency
• Data Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Cloud Platform Management: Manage and optimize AWS and Alibaba Cloud databases, leveraging their native services and features
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve database-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal downtime
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices. Prepare regular reports on system performance and improvements

 
PROFILE:

• Extensive experience: Minimum of 5 years working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Cloud Database Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with database technologies on AWS (e.g., Amazon RDS, MongoDB) and AlibabaCloud (e.g., ApsaraDB for RDS, Table Store) but also Document DB, MS-SQL cluster, and Oracle
• Automation mindset: Strong experience in Infrastructure as code and automation leveraging Terraform and Ansible
• Database Design and Architecture: In-depth knowledge of database design principles and architectural patterns for large-scale, cloud-based systems
• Performance Optimization: Experience optimizing database performance, identifying, and resolving bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies
• Data Security and Compliance: Familiarity with data security best practices, encryption methods, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
